Item Carta con resultados preliminares del muestreo suelos(2006) Martínez, Dr. Fernando Díaz-BarrigaItem The Changing World Of Mental Measurement And Its Social Significance(Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, 1971) Hotlzman, Wayne H.Item Doping Nanocrystals And The Role Of Quantum Confinement(2007-09) Chan, T. L.; Tiago, M. L.; Chelikowsky, J. R.; Chan, Tzu‐Liang; Tiago, Murillo L.; Chelikowsky, James R.Recent progress in developing algorithms for solving the electronic structure problem for nanostructures is illustrated. Key ingredients in this approach include pseudopotentials implemented on a real space grid and the use of density functional theory. This procedure allows one to predict electronic properties for many materials across the nano-regime, i.e., from atoms to nanocrystals of sufficient size to replicate bulk properties. We will illustrate this method for doping silicon nanocrystals with phosphorous.Item Hydrologic Testing in the Salt-Dissolution Zone of the Palo Duro Basin, Texas Panhandle(1985) Dutton, Alan R.Salt dissolution around the perimeter of the Southern High Plains is driven by meteoric groundwater that most likely moves downward from aquifers in the Dockum Group and Ogallala Formation into the Upper Permian section. Hydraulic conductivities measured at two test wells in the salt-dissolution zone below the Rolling Plains and Canadian River valley are 0.7 to 1.6 ft/day (0.2 to 0.5 m/day), greater than hydraulic conductivities of 0.0002 to 0.002 ft/day (0.00006 to 0.0006 m/day) measured at a test well in the salt-dissolution zone below the Southern High Plains. Groundwater velocity in the salt-dissolution zone below the Southern High Plains may be less than the groundwater velocity in the salt-dissolution zone below the Rolling Plains and Canadian River valley because of lower hydraulic conductivity and lower hydraulic-head gradient. The inferred differences in flow rate correspond to differences in salinity and probably account for some variation in the rate of solution of halite. The salt-dissolution zone around the perimeter of the Palo Duro Basin is confined and has a coefficient of storage of approximately 10^-3.5 to 10^-4.6. Although groundwater in the salt-dissolution zone below the Rolling Plains and Canadian River valley is 10,000 to 20,000 years old, with salinity of 68,000 to 95,000 mg/L, the Na-Cl-type water remains capable of dissolving halite that it contacts.Item Letter to Abraham Lerman from H.B. We give examples from novel semiconductor memory and logic devices that indicate that the future is likely to be even more exciting. Conventional Si CMOS may be enhanced by spintronics and quantum interference devices. We will point out metrology needs and opportunities in some of these areas.Item Not Just Nylon... Improving the Range of Materials for High Speed Sintering(University of Texas at Austin, 2018) Brown, R.; Morgan, C.T.; Majewski, C.E.High Speed Sintering (HSS) is an emerging, recently commercialised Additive Manufacturing (AM) process which uses an infrared absorbing ink and infrared lamp to selectively sinter layers of polymer powder. Currently, Nylon 12 and its composites are used as the default feedstock due to their large processing windows. However, to meet the increasing variety of end use applications afforded by the benefits of AM, a wider range of materials must be developed. This work presents the characterisation and testing of a new elastomeric material for use in HSS. Parts were produced over a range of processing conditions, varying key parameters such as part bed temperature, ink density and lamp speed. Performance indicators including powder recovery, surface roughness and tensile data were evaluated over the range of conditions tested and all indicated the material’s suitability for use as an HSS material.Item Protocolo Analítico(2007) Minolli, OscarItem Resultados Muestreo Suelos(2007) Minolli, OscarItem Tests and Drug Development(The Texas Scientist, 2017) The Texas Scientist
