| dc.description.abstract | This study concerns the Red Poppy Service Unit in Williamson County, which is located within the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Council. This service unit supports girls within the boundaries of the Florence, Georgetown, and Jarrell Independent School Districts. It is currently comprised of 28 troops and is guided by an 11-member service team. It is hoped that this study will help to improve access for girls to the Girl Scout program, so more girls have the opportunity to become active participants and leaders in their communities. To accomplish this, internal and external factors contributing to the service unit’s current membership situation have been analyzed. A participatory approach has been utilized in gathering information and developing solutions for increasing membership. This study concludes with recommendations both the Service Unit and the Council may use to increase their membership. | |
