dc.description.abstractThe Cannon Caliber Electromagnetic Gun(CCEMG) is a Compulsator driven, rapid fire electromagnetic gun system that was designed to fire at a 5 Hz rate, three, five round salvos of 185 g projectiles at a muzzle velocity of 1.85 km/s with a minimum time between salvos of 2.5 s. This system was developed. integrated and tested under a contract to the U.S. Army ARDEC and the U.S. Marine Corps with United Defense L. P. as prime contractor. Under this contract the UT-CEM developed the Compulsator and the railgun while Kaman Sciences Inc. developed the Integrated Launch Package. This paper will give a system overview of CCEMG and briefly outline the integration test results obtained to date. Lessons learned during integration will be discussed with an eye to how the CCEMG test results may drive future development of EM gun technology leading to an EM gun weapon system.en
