Description
Short note in which Palmer gives Bennett an update on Mycenaens and Minoans and discusses potential readings of words on a particular Pylos tablet.
The year is not given. We have estimated 1961 based on the reference to the delay on the part of Alfred A. Knopf, which experienced difficulties in publishing the American version of Palmer's Mycenaeans and Minoans, Palmer's continued interest in the "festival words" from the Pylos tablets, and the overall cordial and genial tone, which disappears from Palmer's letters as the 1960s progress.
