Description
News story from September 2007. Based on an agreement between Jujuy Province, the Secretary of the Environment, and the National Secretary of Mining, they have begun an effort to "remediate the environmental liabilities" caused by Metal Huasi in Abra Pampa. The remediation should, according to the story, have been finished in 2011. The clean-up was financed with a credit from BID (el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, or, in English IDB, the Inter-American Development Bank) of 2,022,192 dollars. A handwritten note draws attention to the Inter-American Development Bank and the name of Pablo Villafañe, the director of "Políticas Ambientales" who said that the timeline for the clean-up is flexible.
