dc.descriptionEvent description from AMS Events: This month, the American Studies Film Series will host a FREE screening of "Grey Gardens," directed by Albert and David Maysles. The film depicts the everyday lives of two reclusive socialites, a mother and daughter both named Edith Beale, who lived at Grey Gardens, a decrepit mansion at 3 West End Road in the wealthy Georgica Pond neighborhood of East Hampton, New York. "Grey Gardens" will be introduced by David Juarez. David is a first year graduate student in American Studies whose interests include Jack Kerouac and the Beats, 20th Century American Literature and Culture, Women's and Gender Studies, and Childhood Studies.en
