dc.descriptionThis three-page document seems to be a resolution of the Argentine Parliament (H. Cámara de Diputados de la Nación), apparently printed from an Argentine government website. Within the document the resolution is summarized as: “Request for information from the president on decree 1523/07 which approved the model for the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) loan 1865/OC-AR destined for the execution of the Environmental Mining Program for sustainable production in the productive sector.” Among other points discussed, part of the Resolution requests information on “Sub-Programa II”, “Componente 3,” particularly on the environmental liabilities in Abra Pampa, (Jujuy), San Antonio Oeste (Rio Negro) and Calingasta (San Juan). It states that the problem in Abra Pampa is lead poisoning, and that 81% of the children tested had levels of lead in their blood above the levels considered acceptable by the World Health Organization.en
