Description
In Twelfth Night, transvestism or the practice of wearing clothing of the opposite sex, raises questions concerning the inherent ambiguity of sexual identity in human beings. Several characters in the play manifest both masculine and feminine stereotypical traits. Twelfth Night recognizes the inherent androgyny or double sexual nature of men and women.
