Description
The goal of this project was to identify and quantify selected chemicals, trace metals and organic molecules, in Material to be Dumped (MTBD). The MTBD was provided by NOAA and included substances which were suspected of being deleterious to marine life. In addition studies of the ¹³C/¹²C ratio, 𝛿¹³C, of the total organic matter of the samples were done in order to evaluate the potential of 𝛿¹³C as a tracer for Dumped Material as it mixes with the dissolved and particulate organic matter of the ocean.
