Description
In Arabidopsis thaliana, the gene TTG2 influences seed coat and trichome formation in the developing seedling. By mutant analysis it is known that TTG2 is a transcription factor for many genes; one of these genes is PLC7. Through promoter-reporter constructs and GUS staining, it has been found that PLC7 is expressed in trichomes of the developing seedling with high specificity, and this expression is strongly influenced by TTG2. PLC7 is also expressed in the seed, though seems to be expressed in different tissues than TTG2 and is less influenced.
