Description
Texas is the largest State of the United States of America. It is the leading State in many other ways. All loyal Texans are proud of the leadership which we enjoy in the industrial and commercial fields. Also, the vast farm areas of Texas furnish a great deal of the food supplies of the Nation. We are proud of our leadership, and our glorious history. Not the least of our honors is the possession of the largest State Capitol in the entire country. Yet there are many Texans who do not know the facts concerning the history of the construction of this building. The present history will set forth the main facts of this construction. Its purpose will be fulfilled if the reader finds knowledge and enjoyment in learning the location of the Capitol Lands, the cost of the building, and the character of the materials of which the Capitol is made, also, it is fondly hoped that Texans may be made proud of the magnificent building which is as firm and enduring as the everlasting Texas hills
