McGEORGE BUNDY THE WHITE HOUSE Subject: Request that you see the Spanish Minister of Information Manuel FRAGA Iribarne, the Spanish Minister of Infor­mation and Tourism connnonly identified as the Minister responsible for "liberalizing" the Spanish regime and be­lieved destined to assume even greater responsibilities in the future, will be in Washington on October 15 and 16. Mr. Fraga will be in this country to visit the Spanish Tourist Offices and otherwise familiarize himself with the present situation in the United States. Owing to his present and possible future influence on Spanish policy, I reconnnend that you agree to see him on either the after­noon of October 15 or October 16.
