Brady S. Dodd G. Simpson I. Chasm&n John Smith E. G. Luter OUR POLICY. With this issue of the Daily Texan a new editorial manage ment makes its debut. In gen eral, it will be the policy of the Daily Texan to stand for those things which it deems best for the greatest good of the greatest number of students of the Uni versity of Texas. A little more specifically, it shall be our policy to spread a little less salve than was the policy of one of our pre decessors, to use a little less cold water than was the policy o f an other, and to be a little less ready with the scissors than was the policy o f still another. regardless of We will remember that the Daily Texan belongs to the S tu dents’ Association and not to the Texan sta ff. Still, we expect to act independently in some cases. The editor of the Texan, along with numerous other “servants of the people,” is often placed in a predicament by the two theor ies governing his case, one of which demands that he act in ac cordance with the wishes of the m ajority of his constituents, the other, that he act as he thinks best for the m ajority of his con stituents their wishes. We will try to split the difference, givin g student body a voice in most instances, individual but putting enough l y into the editorial columns to o them from being entirely 2 dently, we wish to state there is any student in ersity who does not care JI the editorials every 'ill not stop his paper ng to read them.
