dc.descriptionThis is a working database that transcribes much of "The Formulary of Thomas Hoccleve" as edited by Elna-Jean Young Bentley in three volumes for her 1965 Ph.D. thesis at Emory University. Helen Hickey of Melbourne, Australia, created this database several years ago using FileMakerPro5 and has submitted it to the Hoccleve Archive in case it can be of use to any other scholars. This file is the result of University of Texas Honors alumna Juliette Sieve's work in 2015--in which she successfully converted the database into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. While we have not yet independently verified the accuracy of the transcription in this file against Bentley's dissertation or British Library MS Additional 24062, we are confident that it can be used provisionally for research and can be built upon and refined by others. Please share your work with this file with the Hoccleve Archive so that we can continue to expand this resource collection!en_US
