Description
The Black Lives Matter movement was started by activists – all Black women – in response to the fatal shootings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. What started as a hashtag on Twitter in 2014 has grown into a global movement protesting police brutality against Black people, and activists, authors, and scholars have produced a large body of work related to the movement. This display features fiction, poetry, memoir, young adult/youth books, scholarship, and more materials that document Black Lives Matter.
