L’homme Arme- Adaptations for Jazz Ensemble, is a contemporary setting of the L’homme arme melody for large jazz ensemble. This document illustrates how the L’homme arme melody influenced my composition and provides a brief synopsis of the symbolism that often accompanied it in composer’s works circa 1450-1585. It is an analysis of compositional construction in comparison to the original melody.
