Description
This Policy Research Project, conducted over the 1996-97 academic year, examined the implementation of House Bill 2377-Texas' authority/provider bill-in the context of Medicaid managed care. It was funded by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health and by the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. The report describes the context in which mental health managed care is being implemented in Texas, details the arrangements in several other states, and examines implementation in Travis County, Tarrant County, and the Lubbock area. Recent legislation is reviewed and a number of findings and recommendations are presented.
