Abstract
In Argentina resides one of the largest markets of counterfeit merchandize in the world. Located in Buenos Aires, “La Salada” fair has been characterized by the European Commission as, “The biggest illegal market in the world”. La Salada profits with around $125 million each year by counterfeiting multibillionaire luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton. A comparison between Louis Vuitton’s supply chain with La Salada’s supply chain will demonstrate how a quality production process has been sacrificed for a quantity production process. This analysis will further illustrate how the violation of human rights has fueled La Salada with enormous profits, and how Louis Vuitton has confronted the counterfeit market.
