Abstract

Reactions of the "salen" type Schiff bases H2L1 and H2L2 with Cd(OAc)(2)center dot 2H(2)O gave complexes with Cd-2 and Cd-3 cores and an extended 1-D framework architecture [H2L1 = N,N'-(1,2-phenylenyl)bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldimine; H2L2 = N,N'-(propyl)-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldimine)].
