Abstract
This conference will include the presentation of some of the most interesting research now being conducted by our graduates, as well as an interpretation of how things have changed over the past 35 years. It also will consider what the training and research mission for the PRC should be in the coming decades with respect to the region and its ties with the United States. Speakers will discuss Family Change and Gender in Latin America; Evaluation of Social Policy; Challenges and Opportunities in Latin American Demography; International Migration and Border Studies; Reproductive Health; Health and Aging; and Social and Labor Mobility. The conference program will consist of sessions in which research findings are presented and discussed as well as roundtables set up to address emerging areas of research, methodological skills needed for these tasks, and the changing institutional environment in which research and policy interact.
