At the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights hearing of October 22, 2008, a series of inquiries were made of the United States Government ("government") regarding the planning processes used for the installation of border security of border security fencing along the southern border of the United States. As was stated during the government's oral presentation, many of these matters are the subject of current litigation in the federal courts of the United States. Accordingly, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is restrained in its ability to respond. Please find CBP's written answers to the Commission's inquiries below:en
