Description
This poster is the culmination of a project completed to fulfill the Capstone requirement for a Master's of Information Studies at the School of Information. During this project, I worked for Michael Laird Rare Books, LLC. I was tasked with fully processing the papers of Irene Rice Pereira, an American abstract artist. The end goal of the project was for the collection to be sold to the Schlesinger Library at Harvard University, who already owned some of Pereira's papers. The project began with extensive research on the people involved as well as into the current holdings of the Schlesinger Library. After looking through microfilm, I was able to have a better idea of what was unique to the collection I was working with. I authored an appraisal report and processing plan and then began to arrange the collection. I wrote a DACS compliant, EAD/XML encoded finding aid. The collection was sold to the Schlesinger Library.
