This investigation was initiated on January 15, 1976, when the Governor's Office, Education Resources Commission, designated the Bureau of Economic Geology as the performing agency to provide mineral production statistics for all school districts in the State of Texas. The final report includes the identification of all mineral commodities produced in Texas school districts and the evaluation of total mineral production value for each school district, including petroleum liquids, natural gas, and all other minerals. The inventory of active mineral producers and the evaluation of production and production value are based on data for the 1974 calendar year.
