Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder amongst women of reproductive age, effecting between 4% to 18% of the female population around the world. Though it has been around for centuries, the condition is still relatively misunderstood. There are treatments available, but there is no cure at this time. While the physical manifestations of PCOS are often the only things treated by medical practitioners, a PCOS diagnosis has many more far-reaching effects than most practitioners and patients are initially aware of. Just how far do these effects reach? This is the question this paper seeks to answer.
