Abstract

Ketoreductases (KRs) are capable of setting different combinations of stereocenters at the α and β position, resulting in complex polyketides with multiple chiral centers. In order to increase the stereocontrol of KRs a structure–activity relationship study was performed using four diketides of various lengths. The stereocontrol of KRs was increased with a longer hydrophobic chain or a pantetheine handle
