Description

Acting on the assumption that an understanding of education in the Republic would contribute to an understanding of education in the State, investigations were made along the following general lines: 1. A study of the backgrounds of the Republic. 2. Views of the political leaders of the period. 3. Efforts for a system of public education. 4. Contributions of extra-governmental agencies. 5. A study of the schools actually conducted during the Republic as to location, housing and equipment, types, methods of teaching, discipline, pupil population, activities, and the education of girls
