Abstract

Proteins are associated with a myriad of biological networks that govern the structure, function, and regulation of physiological processes. They are often analyzed both for clinical and experimental applications which often involve widely accepted but expensive, laborious, and time-consuming conventional assays. While these methods are effective, alternative techniques that can circumvent these issues can greatly reduce the cost and time associated with protein analysis. Herein, I present computational methods that investigate the potential of an optical fingerprinting method for protein characterization that utilizes TAMRA-modified single stranded DNA, a system developed by Tomita et al.
