Abstract

Description

I wish to take up in this paper two subjects which, while considered separately, are really bound up with each other. First, I shall consider the yearly cycle from a general standpoint, noting only the gross morphological changes that take place in the reproductive tract. In the second part, l shall describe in detail the changes in the structure and function of the corpus luteum, which I hope to show to be the organ governing the functions and development of the uterus and embryos. Included in the second part are some experiments and natural variations which help to throw light upon the changes involved
