Abstract
The study of Black Employment in a Tight Labor Market: The Houston Experience by Professor Vernon M. Briggs, Jr, is part of a project on Negro Employment in the South (NES) sponsored by the Manpower Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The basic objective of the NES project is to explain the patterns of black employment and to suggest remedies which might improve employment and upgrading opportunities for Negroes.
