Bennett recounts the first month of his 1986 Fellowship at ASCSA to Palaima. In it, he goes over making a brief trip to Boston and back to Athens, drawing tablets, meeting other scholars on Crete, his plans for the winter semester of teaching, some brief outlines of his donation of books to PASP (then called CRASP). He ends the letter remembering problems in the Rome and Athens airports caused by strikes and non-existant flights he booked.
