The award recognizes exemplary student work that achieves the learning outcomes of the Signature Course information literacy requirement, which are that students will be able to create and execute a research strategy, critically evaluate information, and use citations. This paper was nominated by Dr. Lorenzo Candelaria from the School of Music and was submitted in his Signature Course "Music, Art, and Ritual in Mexican Catholicism." This paper was chosen for the award for its incorporation of a diversity of sources, including books and journal articles appropriate to the assignment, and the excellent evaluation of sources in the annotated bibliography.en
