Abstract

Because of increasing uncertainties in power systems as a result of increasing the penetration of renewable resources like wind, it is necessary to consider different scenarios for power system operation. There are several different point of views on how to deal with uncertainties. One common way is using stochastic optimization techniques to moderate the impact of uncertainties. This thesis first reviews related power system and optimization concepts, then formulates and implements DC security constrained optimal power ow for the case with multiple scenarios. After that, related data is discussed and assumptions are made. Finally, a case study is presented using the optimizer GUROBI.
