This thesis is an application of scientific method of investigation to literature. It is a study of Friedrich Schiller's three early dramas, Die Räuber, Fiesco and Kabale und Liebe. The study of stylistics and methods used are first investigated, then applied to the Schiller dramas. Included is extensive study of imagery, particularly as found in metaphors and similes, phraseology and sentence structure and poise. Finally, the dramas are compared to contemporary works of other authors and are found to belong, because of stylistic conclusions and comparisons, to the Storm and Stress movement of German literature.
