In vivo left ventricular volume by catheter : real-time, nonlinear correction method

In this thesis, a solution is presented for real-time volume measurement of the left ventricle by the admittance catheter technique. New theory is implemented that incorporates information about the complex nature of muscle in the measurement, allowing the separation of conductance from muscle tissue from the conductance of blood, a process distinctly different from the original volume calculation technique because of the use of admittance. Software also includes an algorithm for an improved dual frequency technique using aforementioned theory.
