Abstract
This three-year demonstration project, operating in five high schools and seven middle schools in the Austin Independent School District, will identify and eliminate variables which prevent high-ability, low-income students from enrolling in pre-advanced placement (AP) and AP courses. The project goals are to increase the proportion of low-income students who: (1) are enrolled in AP classes, and (2) score 3 or higher on AP exams.
