Abstract

This digitized film from the Charles Moore Archives documents renowned architect Charles Willard Moore’s trip to Egypt in 1950. Moore’s film is largely set in the Karnak Temple Complex. Notable Karnak ruins in the film include, the great hypostyle hall in the Precinct of Amon Re, statue of high priest Pinedjem I, site excavations, hieroglyphic encrusted obelisks and friezes, ram statues, the Gateway of Ptolemy III Euergetes, as well as panoramic views of the Nile. This film was most likely utilized by the architect for research purposes.
