We at the Environmental Science Institute are saddened by the passing of Dr. Sally Ride. Her pioneering career as an astronaut is well known to all, but she was also a pioneer in science education. Her passion for getting students interested in science was boundless. Dr. Ride was a great friend to ESI and she delivered a most memorable Hot Science – Cool Talks lecture on October 30, 2009, making a profound impression on many of us that day (see photos below).
