Abstract
The State of Texas invests in higher education in order to develop the human capital of the state. These investments result in a large number of benefits, including increased productivity, earning gains, market entry of products and services, and many more. Three major areas of impact of having a University of Texas institution in the area are health services, university research and development, and the earnings gains of graduates of the institution.
