Item Data Base of Soil, Aquifer, and Contaminant Attributes for Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank Sites in Texas(1997) Mace, Robert E. (Robert Earl), 1967-; Welch, David Mark; Collins, Edward W.This report contains descriptions of the databases developed by the Bureau of Economic Geology as part of an investigation into the extent, mass, and duration of hydrocarbon plumes from leaking petroleum storage tank (LPST) sites in Texas. These databases were utilized in developing the results and conclusions of the report titled "Extent, Mass, and Duration of Hydrocarbon Plumes from Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank Sites in Texas" (Mace and others, 1997). The data were collected from LPST files at the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, documenting instances where groundwater has been or had been impacted by leaking gasoline. Sources of the data include information reported in the Limited Site Assessment Report Form (TWC, 1993), the Plan B Risk Assessment Checklist (TNRCC, 1995), and water-level and water-chemistry data sheets included in quarterly, semi-annual, and annual groundwater monitoring reports. The methodology and techniques used to collect the data are detailed in Mace and others (1997). Both paper and digital formats of the databases were provided to the TNRCC. This document includes hard copies of many of the databases. However, due to the large size of the water-level and water chemistry databases (1,200 printed pages), this document only provides explanations of the data fields for these databases. Below, we describe the overall structure of the databases and present the databases themselves.
