The Culture of Protest Arts in the Green Movement and the Uprising for Mahsa Jina Amini

Historically political and social upheavals in Iran have created a new wave of posters and art as a tool for political dialogue. The purpose of this article is to compare and examine the protest arts of the Green Movement in the Summer of 2009 and the nationwide demonstrations of Mehsa Jina Amini in the Fall of 2022 to better understand the goals and motivations of Iranian artists in these two political movements in relation to the contemporary history of Iran. This article aims to examine the political and social events of these two movements from the perspective of folk arts inside and outside of Iran.
