Item Successful, white, female teachers of Mexican American students(2005) Garza, Rebecca Elaine; Scribner, Jay D.This research was a qualitative study of 4 White, female elementary school teachers working in an urban school district populated by a majority of Mexican American students. This study sought to identify the attributes that in spite of cultural differences allow White, middle-class, female teachers to be effective in providing a successful school experience to Mexican American children. This study examined the perceptions, beliefs, and life experiences of these 4 White female teachers and the practices they bring to their classroom.
