He e s tablished a new strike-out record for the season by striking out fifteen men and came within the barest margin of pitching a no-hit gam e. In the ninth inning, with two down, E stes sent an easy fly to left, which Dolan m is judged, allow ing the ball to bounce in front cd him, and Sellars was thus prevented from entering the charmed circle. The Longhorns’ six well-bunched bingies and their speed on the paths were largely responsible for their six runs. In the first inning Ezzell led o f f with a stin g in g grounder down the third base line, stole second, went to third on K eltner’s infield out, hut was thrown out at. the plate when Cannon hit to Hallmark.
