A somewhat unique sugges tion has come from an alumnus of the U niversity a member of the class of ’84. that there should be among U niversity publica tions one that would belong dis tinctly to I he women of the school. it Such a publication would be is impractical and rather doubtful if there is any field for it even if it were possible. The w riter of the letter may not be aware of the large and import ant part that is being played by the women of the U niversity on the student publications which are already in operation. But the letter serves to show' that the interest of the old-timers, at least one o f them, is always keen and that they are as much inter ested in the University** welfare as in the present student genera tion. That is the sort of thing which makes for the strength of institution and which up the holds the hands o f those who are actively engaged in carrying on its work. The letter fo llo w s; “N oticing that Varsity has a number of most excellent publi cation'*, the thought has occurred to me, that the Co-Eds should have one also. “They are such a splendid part in the upbuilding of Varsity and are a very large unit in its life, that it seem s to me that they should have a dis tinctive Co-Ed magazine or pa per. taking “Tho 'Texas Blue Bonnet* edited by the women of Texas, might be a well won recognition of their service to the Univer sity. “Why not suggest it through the columns of the Texan ? “Yours truly, “W ILL L.
