It has often occurred to The Texan th a t co-ed on the s ta ff —once she has been selected as a repo rter— has little to spur her on to g reater things. ( LASS MAKES RUGS. The H. E. class of Textiles, under the direction of Mrs. E. T. Cousley, is weaving individual rugs. The rugs are planned by the girls, and drawn to scale before they are woven. The loom which has long stood in the sew- ing laboratory is now daily clicking, now’ wearily tying and girls threads in the weaving process. are The most interesting facto r in con nection with weaving these rugs is the conservation of rags and m aking into usable articles. The ra g s them are torn and tacked to g eth er in long strips. They are often dyed with gay colors and work into beautiful floor coverings. up Sometime bfeore the close of this term an exhibit of these rugs will be made in the sewing laboratory.
