Wood TH E PROBLEM OF SEATING THANKSGIVING CROWD. There is a general m isunder standing, it seems, as to the sale of tickets fo r the T hanksgiving game. T he A thletic Council is being severely, and, as it appears to us, unjustly criticised by stu dents, I acuity members, and out siders. We have gone into the m a tte r ra th e r carefully, and have come to th e conclusion th a t th e plan outlined by the com m it tee is in most respects fa ir and im partial. The m anagem ent is called upon to seat the largest crowd th a t has ever been on Clark Field. The seating capacity, though it has been increased for th e occasion, will doubtless be in to take care of the sufficient crowd. A pproxim ately th irty - five hundred people eau be seated th e bleachers and g ra n d in stands. A conservative estim ate bf the crowd would be four or five thousand. The problem of apportioning these seats so as to do justice to th e students, the team , th e faculty, th e alumni, tow n people, and visitors is a very difficult one. The statem en t th a t appeared in y e ste rd a y ’s paper is very clear. Sections Q, It, S, T, U, V, W on east side, totaling 819 seats, are reserved for rooters, and they can secure th e ir tickets beginning today at 12 o’clock. If the students desire to go in th e grandstand, they can go in sections B, I), or F, containing 866 seats, or in A, N, (), P, X, Y, or Z. Some of these sections are not choice, but most of them are good. Section G, whit h is one of the best, is reserved for the guests of the team . < V rtainly th ere can be no objection to doing justice to the football men who have made possible tin 1 g re a test team th a t Texas has ever had. The faculty members-—th a t is, professors, instructors, and tu to rs and th e ir immediate fam i lies, can be seated in section ll, containing 120 scats. Ot her fac ulty m em bers can be seated in B, D, and F. Some of th e faculty m em bers have complained be cause they could not seat all of th e ir visitors with them . For instance, one professor is to have ten visitors whom ho w ants to carry w ith him in the faculty req u est Suppose his section. was granted, and th a t ten o th ers had as many visitors, where would th e o th er hundred faculty m em bers s it? Two sections, C and E, are re served for the alum ni, and I and J for business men of A ustin holding coupon books. Sections K and L a re fo r A ustin people. The system is som ew hat com plicated and may appear unfair, b u t if you will take the care to exam ine it in detail, rem em ber ing th a t you are not th e only one to be served, you will find it satisfacto ry . Some of th e students are un der th e im pression th a t th ey can not, under any considerations, I his buy more th an two tickets. is a m istake. You can not buy more th a n two tickets in the s tu d en ts’ section, b u t if you have some visitors from home you can buy tick ets in any of th e open .sections M, N, O, P, X, Y, or Z. Go to th e tick et office a t Clark Field from 12 to I today and see if you do not get fa ir tr e a t ment. PROPER RESPECT. For two nights Otis Skinner played in “ Kismet” before packed houses, a tribute to his art and to the appeal If any fault of a rather unique play. to be found with the audiences, and that applies especially to the “ pit,” it is a slight spirit of flippancy.
