This is indeed a h ealthy in dication o f better relations b e tw e en the governing body o f the University and its students and faculty. I rem em ber when the Regents used to slip into A ustin unnoticed, hold their m eetin gs quietly, and then slip ou t of town. All w e knew o f their m eetings was the m eager report their secretary gave to the Texan. There has been a need for a long time for the R egents to g e t closer to the fa cu lty and students and their recent a c tions have show-n that they are interested in doing this. As a result, they are coming to know the U niversity and its problems much better and they are ad ministrating them more ably. It is an encouraging sign and the students and facu lty should not overlook it. Most o f us have stood ready to criticize the R e thought th ey gen ts w hen w e the past.
