S t a n f o r d M o t t P o w e r f u l “ Right o ff the reel I ’d say the team we played most pow erful this year was S ta n fo rd . W h e n you go into a game and expect to get knocked silly by power and speed yo u’re going to fig h t — and we did. WThen we thought of men like Grayson, M oscrip, Alustiza and Ham ilton, we thought w e ’d better get p retty close the ground looking fo r four-leaf clov ers or w e ’d be pulverized.” to Spaulding thinks Bob by G r a y is a great ball son of Stan fo rd player. “ I ’ve seen G rayson c a rry the ball and my legs ached watching that bird w ork,” Spaulding said. “ Ev e n in my sleep I could see him running o ff tackle, inside or out. T h ey fool around and fool around and then — there goes W ils o n ! I can ’t think of anyone as pow erful as Grayson in running o ff tackle. And I can t conceive of anyone better than W ilson for running from one to IOO yards. “ S. M. U . must reckon with the Sta n fo rd line, one o f the best in the country.
