And a survey of reviews here and th ere finds it well up in 1 ating, especially as an u n d er­ world film. The story is called vivid, and vivid ch aracterizations are a ttrib u te d toT ieorge B ancroft, starred , Evelyn B rent, and W il­ liam Powell. B ut th a t was to be expected, two of the nam ed acto rs being notably for more th an adequate perform ances.
