WORSE AND WORSE. It m atters little to us who is elected president of the Students’ Association—the candidates can fight it out in any way they see proper—but we draw the line at having our intelligence stultified by any such harranguing as the students were forced to listen to in Hit' Auditorium yesterday. A fter a two hours’ session, the association adjourned without having accomplished a thing. The debate was pitched on a very low, disgraceful plane. The speakers so th em selves as to deal in dirty person alities, and at times it looked like personal encounters would result. far forgot And for such is student self government. Y esterday’s meet ing looked like the beginning of tho end. A few more meetings of this kind will disrupt th e whole of our student govern ment. If we are in the University for no more serious purpose than this, we had better quit. Only two weeks remain before exami- nat ions, and here we are throw ing our time away in this m an ner. It would occur to us th a t it is time for the sensible students to take charge of affairs and put an end to all this “tom-foolerv.” W rite a letter to the folks at nome today and boast to them of y este rd ay ^ meeting. It will g< good with them to know how we are spending our time— and their money. No doubt th is will induce them to make a very handsome donation to th e Uni versity. ONLY TWO MOUE.
