And he’s playing at the Queen for the rest of the week in “The Pil grim.” “The Pilgrim” like “The Kid” is a feature production, but out-and- out comedy pgedonii nates the plot. Charlie’s assistant is a second Jackie Coogan, young “ Dinky” Dean to be exact, and he’s just four years old. This young man has the role of the precocious youngster who spoils the festivities a t the home of the church deacon who gives a party in honor of the arrival of the new “parson.” Little does the deacon or anyone else suspect th at the “ parson” (Charlie, himself) is an escaped convict mas querading in the clothes of a minis ter. The boy runs the gamut of mis chief. He slaps the “parson,” gets his father’s face tangled up in fly paper and mixes up a derby h a t in the plum pudding. The derby just fits the pudding neatly and the un suspecting parson, helping in the kit chen, pours the sauce over it, gar nishing the piece of resistance at the top with berries. When it comes time for dessert, the parson is called it. Then the subtle upon to serve production is said to reach its great est comedy heights with “ Dinky” Dean sharing the honors with Charlie. in H a n c o c k kin we have the opportunity of ; what is acclaimed by critics one of the masterpieces of the I I BIG P ’C T U P E S — L I T T I E P R IC E S Today and Saturday MARY PICKFORD In “POLLYANNA” The “glad” picture from the story by Eleanor Por ter.
